About three weeks ago, Eva and Mary set out on a campaign to convince us to buy them a bird. They’d done all the research on how to properly care for a parakeet, and of the ways in which you could train and enjoy them. I was skeptical of adding another mouth to feed to our already gigantic brood, but Frank felt good about giving them some ownership over something they were clearly so passionate about. So we did the thing. We got the bird.
Fluffy Lodato charmed the crap out of our family almost instantly (with the exception of the dogs, who were appalled that we’d introduce a new species into the house). Eva has been especially attentive - making sure Fluffy’s needs are constantly met and giving her plenty of play time.
Please send some love to our kiddos today as Fluffy unexpectedly passed away last night. When the girls went up to bed, they noticed that she was acting strange and barely moving. Fluffy died peacefully nestled in Eva’s hands while Mary prayed over her that she would enjoy heaven. All three littles are taking this one pretty hard so your prayers for mended hearts are much welcomed.
They are still sleeping soundly this morning - all three jammed up in the same bed. Times like these I’m so thankful my kids have each other. ❤️
